From the studio to the community and back. Combining a Private Painting Practice with a Public Art Practice Rooted in Community, Place & History.
Sol Golden Sato plays through painting, architecture, collections and archives towards a new role for art. Sol’s practice sits at the intersection of contemporary history painting, socially engaged art, and public installation. His work draws directly from lived experiences of migration, displacement, and community struggle, transforming them into visual and participatory environments that reconnect forgotten histories—particularly those of neglected stories, migrant and working‑class communities—with contemporary audiences.
