Sato’s public art does not only sit outside his studio practice; it extends it. The monumental canvases, mythopoetic narratives, and allegorical histories he paints privately become the ideological scaffolding for his public installations. Community projects are co‑authored history paintings in motion, enacted across architecture, neighborhoods, natural environments, and intergenerational groups.
